Ice Cream in a Bag

Ingredients
- 1 cup half and half
- 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- Ice
- ¼ cup salt
- 2 Ziploc bags – 1 small, 1 large
Instructions
Step 1
Pour 1 cup of half and half into a small Ziploc bag.
Step 2
Add 1.5 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
Step 3
Seal the small bag firmly, removing as much air as possible.
Step 4
Fill the larger Ziploc bag halfway with ice and add ¼ cup of salt.
Step 5
Place the small sealed bag inside the large bag and add more ice on top. Seal the large bag.
Step 6
Put on gloves and shake the large bag for 6 minutes. The salt makes the ice extra cold, so gloves are important.
Step 7
Remove the small bag from the large bag and rinse the outside thoroughly with cold water, including the area above the seal.
Step 8
Carefully open the small bag without letting any leftover salt water enter the bag.
Step 9
The ice cream may look a bit icy at first. Use a spoon to stir and soften it. Scoop and enjoy!
