Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator
Full Time | 18 Month Contract
Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area is seeking a Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator to help ensure volunteers have a fulfilling, valued, and meaningful experience while making a difference in the lives of others.
In this role, you will support the journey of mentoring and non-mentoring volunteers, help recruit new mentors, and contribute to a positive and inclusive volunteer experience that reflects our mission and values.
Position Details
Location: London, ON
Employment Type: 18 month contract, 35 hours/week
Salary: $43,000 annually
Start Date: April 20, 2026
Closing Date: April 10, 2026

Responsibilities
- Attend volunteer recruitment fairs, make presentations, and network to inspire individuals to apply as volunteers.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications to develop and implement an annual volunteer recruitment strategy for mentors.
- Engage community organizations, businesses, and other opportunities to recruit mentors based on the needs of youth on our waitlist.
- Cultivate relationships with potential mentors and serve as the primary contact throughout the enrollment process.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from individuals interested in becoming a mentor.
- Assess applicants’ suitability through interviews, home assessments, reference checks, and standard enrollment procedures.
- Ensure a smooth transition from enrollment to the matching process for mentors.
- Develop and implement volunteer recognition efforts that demonstrate appreciation.
- Contribute to strategies that assess volunteer satisfaction and improve the volunteer experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support workshops, events, and volunteer engagement opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to engage mentors in other capacities such as donors and non-mentoring volunteers.
- Maintain accurate and detailed volunteer records and use technology to improve systems and processes.
Skills Required
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong administrative skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus
- Ability to build strong relationships with volunteers from diverse populations
- Clear and empathetic understanding of the needs and issues of our target population and community
- Effective time management, multitasking, and adaptability to change
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft products and customer relationship management software
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
- Minimum 2 year college diploma or equivalent, with a focus on social services, social work, or a related field of study
- Experience with values-based, volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organizations
- Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- CPR/first aid certification is an asset
- Flexible schedule to meet organizational and stakeholder needs
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license with adequate insurance coverage
- Availability for evening and weekend work as part of a regular rotation or as needed
