Training resources to support BBBS mentors in supporting Indigenous youth.
Session One
Focusing on developing strong and safe relationships with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis youth, the training asks the participant to engage in a journey of continuous growth, learning, understanding, and curiosity.
The development of the training occurred under the guidance of agency stakeholders, community members, and Knowledge Keepers.
The core learning objectives include:
- Spark Understanding – increase awareness of self and others, gaining courage and wisdom
- Ignite Action – learn practical ways of being and doing for each other
- Stoke the Long Fire – learn responsible and purposeful ways to continue the journey
