Clients have the right to:
- Be treated with respect and consideration.
- Participate in an inclusive environment where they can be themselves.
- Have their privacy protected and personal information kept confidential, in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
- Receive accurate information about the program, including expectations, processes, and requirements.
- Withdraw from the program at any time.
- Actively participate in decisions regarding their mentoring match.
- Access information about the scope, availability, and limitations of services.
- Be informed of any legal reporting requirements related to child safety and protection.
- Request access to personal information through the Privacy Officer.
- File a complaint regarding concerns related to privacy, confidentiality, safety, or service delivery.
Clients have a responsibility to:
- Ask questions to ensure they understand the program and its expectations.
- Treat staff and volunteer mentors with respect.
- Provide advance notice when cancelling or rescheduling visits.
- Report any concerns related to their safety or well-being to their mentoring coordinator or other staff member.
- Inform Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area of any changes to their circumstances that may affect their participation in the program.
