One to One Mentoring

Between Generations

Are you 55 or older and looking to make a meaningful difference? Share your wisdom, build a bond, and inspire the next generation. Your life experience can make all the difference for a young person in your community.

In the Community

Time Commitment

2–4 hours twice a month for at least 12 months.

What and Where

You will be matched with a young person between the ages of 7–17. Visits will take place in the community and in your home. Your guidance can help a young person feel supported, valued, and connected.

In Schools

Time Commitment

1 hour once a week for the academic year.

What and Where

You will be matched with a young person in grade 1–8 and meet with them at their school. Together, you will decide on activities based on common interests, such as playing a board game or creating a craft.

One to One in the Community

Time Commitment

2–4 hours twice a month for at least 12 months.

What and Where

You will be matched with a young person between the ages of 7 to 17. Together, you’ll decide what you would like to do. It might be going for a hike, playing a board game, or simply hanging out. Meetings will take place in the community and in your home.

New Horizons

Time Commitment

2–4 hours twice a month for at least 12 months.

What and Where

You will be matched with a newcomer parent and meet with them regularly to provide support, friendship, and community connection. Mentors should have lived experience as a parent. Having personal experience as a newcomer is an asset but not required. Families in this program are adjusting to life in Canada and benefit greatly from the guidance and encouragement of a caring mentor.

Group

In-School Group Mentoring — Go Girls!

What and Where

You will co-lead a group of female-identifying youth in grades 6–8 at a local school. Mentors should be between 18–30 years old. Sessions are activity-based and focus on building confidence, developing communication skills, and making healthy choices.

You will co-lead a group of male-identifying youth in grades 6–8 at a local school. Mentors should be between 18–30 years old. Sessions are activity-based and focus on exploring healthy lifestyles, building confidence, and strengthening social skills.

Time Commitment

1 hour once a week for 14 weeks.

What and Where

You will co-lead a group of youth in grades 4–5 at a local school. Mentors should be between 18–30 years old. Sessions focus on healthy living through active play, balanced nutrition, and building positive self-esteem.
