At 26 years old, Jamie-Lynn is entering her fourth year at Western University, pursuing an Honours Specialization in Genetics. With aspirations of attending medical school after completing her degree, she brings that same passion and commitment to her role as a mentor.
Originally from the small town of Tottenham, Ontario, Jamie-Lynn now calls London home. She shares it with her two lively dogs, who keep her active and entertained.
Jamie-Lynn’s connection to Big Brothers Big Sisters began long before she became a Big. “I was part of the program as a Little,” she shares. “While my experience wasn’t what I had hoped, I wanted to come back and make a positive impact on someone else’s life.” That drive to give back is evident in the time, energy, and heart she puts into her mentoring relationship.
When asked what her Little might appreciate most about her, Jamie-Lynn believes it’s her positive energy and laid-back approach. “I don’t take things too seriously and always try to have a positive outlook,” she says.
One of their standout moments together happened at The Factory. After many tries, her Little successfully landed a front flip. “It was such an exciting moment,” Jamie-Lynn recalls. “Watching her achieve something she had worked so hard for was incredible. We were both so proud.”
Jamie-Lynn is intentional about making their visits fun, supportive, and empowering. Whether they’re tackling a new challenge, sharing laughs, or just spending quality time together, she ensures her Little feels seen, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.
We’re proud to recognize Jamie-Lynn for the incredible difference she’s making as a mentor. Her story is a beautiful reminder of how powerful it is to show up, connect, and give back.
